Allianz were having issues with heat gain caused by direct sunlight penetrating the building through their predominantly glass fronted building. This in turn was resulting in rising utility bills for Great West House. The cost of maintaining the desired internal temperature was steadily increasing and Allianz wanted a solution to arrest this. Once they had made their issues clear to iGP, an initial free of charge survey was conducted. The results prompted the proposed installation of 200 micron Class A Silver 20 combination bomb blast/Solar film which reduces heat gain from the sun by up to 80% as well as protecting the employees from potentially lethal flying shards of glass in the event of an explosion.
Client Quotes

The film was installed on all external facing elevations of glass to truly combat the issue of heat gain, glare and security concerns. The work was completed out of working hours to minimise the impact on the working environment of Allianz.

Since the installation, Allianz have seen a dramatic reduction in the utilities bill and, furthermore, a reduction in their carbon emissions and CO2 wastage.

Starcom had always suffered from problems with extreme sunlight on their building on Howland Street. By the afternoon, the light coming through the windows was making it very difficult for staff to see their screens as well as heating up the floor causing them to use the air con all day at a lower temperature. This not only had a cost implication but an environmental one too. They have blinds onsite but, because they didn't want to completely block out the sun by replacing them with blackout blinds, they looked for another solution. As well as this, they had held their ISO 14001 certificate for just over a year and were looking for further ways of reducing their carbon footprint and lessen the demand for increased air conditioning.
Client Quotes

iGP surveyed the site and installed Sterling 20 solar film to the windows. This has combated the glare problem in the afternoon as well as reducing the demand for air conditioning meaning use of less energy to cool the office down.

Xchanging's offices on Leadenhall Street had no additional security protection on their glass. In London's business district the threat of a terrorist attack is very real. Xchanging's priority and focus was their employees' safety. Key to this was ensuring they were protected from the potential threat of lethal flying shards of glass in the event of an explosion.
Client Quotes

iGP surveyed the building and, after further consultation, suggested the solution of a combination security and solar film. This worked perfectly as some of the employees were suffering from glare issues due to direct sunlight on their south facing elevation. This was making it unbearable for staff and was affecting their work due to the glare making it difficult to view their computer screens clearly. The direct sunlight was also causing significant heat gain to the areas adjacent to the windows making working conditions uncomfortable. Blinds were not an option because they didn't want to completely block out the sun just tone it down whilst maintaining natural light. The combination film solved the glare issue as well as ensuring all employees were fully protected against a glass injury in an explosion or terrorist attack.

After the successful completion of works at their London office, similar work was carried out at their other UK sites in Preston, Chatham and Folkestone.

HPH Commercial Property had an issue with significant heat gain in its office in Chippenham. With numerous windows onsite, the sun was directly penetrating the windows making the office heat up and making working conditions for employees uncomfortable. This in turn increased the need for air conditioning which drove up the operating costs for the building. This issue was also having an environmental effect as CO2 emissions of the building were also growing. HPH stipulated that they wanted to maintain the external appearance of the building and not have a film that changed the buildings look in any way.
Client Quotes

iGP surveyed the site and recommended the installation of LX70 solar film. This solar film is totally clear but can significantly reduce the heat gain through the windows whilst being unnoticeable.

It acts as a solar barrier and prevents up to 50% of the heat penetrating the window. Following the installation, the cost of maintaining the buildings internal temperature has decreased and in turn reduced the carbon emissions of the building.

Permasteelisa were undertaking a refurbishment on behalf of a large law firm based on levels 25-33 of Broadgate tower. Their key directive was to decorate all communal meeting rooms with a specific patterned manifestation. The desired result for the client was to ensure privacy to its occupants as well as complying with DDA requirements on glass doors.
Client Quotes

The desired patterns were complex and needed to be digitally enhanced and applied to clear film before it could be installed.

iGP surveyed the site and, after much consultation between the architect and our own graphic designer, were able to exactly replicate the required pattern from drawings and digitally print it onto clear film and install as per brief.

Appearance is everything when installing internal manifestations which is why iGP offer a free alteration or amendment service if any quality issues arise from an installation.
