The library at Imperial College London is on the top four floors of the faculty building and has no air conditioning. With large floor to ceiling windows on the top two floors, the summer months can become unbearable due to a 'greenhouse effect.'
A solar film had already been applied internally, but due to the smart glass in place, the film specified by the previous installation company didn't fulfil its requirement. iGP proposed an alternative solution; an external film application.
As the picture displays external access equipment was required in order to complete the installation safely - all iGP operatives are fully PASMA & IPAF trained and qualified in operating heavy duty access equipment.
The library's heat gain has now been reduced by 74% resulting in a much cooler, and more comfortable, working environment.
